IT consulting that ends with a workable next step
For Michigan SMBs facing an infrastructure decision, an unresolved technical problem or a project that needs a defined scope.
Make the decision before buying the tool
A server replacement, a new provider proposal or a recurring application problem can involve several vendors and no clear owner. TLI helps establish the problem, the dependencies and the decision you actually need to make.
Consulting fits owners who need an independent technical view and internal IT teams that need focused engineering help. You do not need to replace your current support provider to bring us into a defined project.
Typical engagement questions
- Which infrastructure weaknesses should be addressed first, and which can wait?
- Does a vendor proposal solve the stated problem, and what operational responsibilities remain?
- What access, licensing, maintenance window and recovery plan will a migration require?
- Why does an issue keep recurring across the network, server and application boundary?
- Which manual workflow is suitable for automation, and which needs a simpler process?
What you receive
The output depends on the question: a current-state assessment, options with tradeoffs, a prioritized work plan, or a project scope with acceptance checks. We identify missing information and dependencies so an estimate does not conceal unresolved engineering work.
When implementation is included, the scope identifies who executes each change, how the result will be tested and how the environment can be recovered. Documentation should allow the person supporting the system afterward to understand it.
How the engagement runs
We start with the business impact and available evidence, then agree on access and a bounded discovery scope. Findings are reviewed with you before implementation is scheduled. The final handoff records completed work and remaining decisions.
Choose consulting, engineering or ongoing leadership
A discrete decision or assessment fits consulting. A defined network or server change fits engineering. A continuing need to set priorities, review vendors and align technology spending fits fractional CTO support.
Nate Howard leads TLI’s technical approach, drawing on hands-on work across business networks, firewalls, servers and recovery. Our public engineering practice note explains how that approach is checked in TLI’s own systems.
