Find security gaps. Fix them. Check the result.
Practical cybersecurity assessment and remediation for Michigan businesses that need technical work completed and explained.
For businesses with unanswered security questions
You may have security products installed and still be unsure who has administrative access, which systems are exposed, or whether backups can be restored. A useful assessment connects those questions to observable settings and an achievable remediation plan.
TLI works with business owners and internal IT teams on defined defensive security work. The first step is to agree on systems, access and the business impact of testing.
Assessment and remediation scope
- Identity and administrative access: account ownership, multifactor authentication coverage and offboarding gaps.
- Endpoints and servers: update state, endpoint protection, local administrators and useful logging.
- Networks: firewall rules, remote access, segmentation and unnecessary exposed services.
- Recovery: backup coverage, access protection, retention and restore evidence.
- Findings: distinguish a confirmed weakness from an untested assumption, then prioritize by likely business impact.
From findings to completed work
We establish a baseline and document each proposed change. For work that could interrupt access or applications, we check recovery options before changing the control. After implementation, we test the effective behavior rather than relying only on a configuration screen.
The handoff identifies what changed, what was verified, what remains open and who owns the next action. An assessment can lead to a remediation project or to ongoing management; those are separate scopes.
Evidence and boundaries
Our own infrastructure work includes server hardening, network access restrictions and backup verification. The TLI engineering example describes both the observations and the limits. Internal work is not presented as a customer result.
Technical remediation can support your organization’s security obligations. It does not by itself certify compliance, guarantee an audit outcome or replace an independent assessor. Incident-response availability and any ongoing monitoring responsibilities must be agreed before relying on them.
Start with the concern
Describe the systems involved and what prompted the review. Do not send passwords, private keys or sensitive records in an initial email. We will agree on an appropriate way to share technical evidence.
